Because the Better Business Bureau is virtually GOOD FOR NOTHING, I'm forced to take out my anger here on RIP OFF. So here goes.
I am appalled at the level of service received and by the attitude executed by the desk clerk only known to be as Casey or perhaps Kacey.
Late Thursday evening, February 26th Three of us drove in from Phoenix headed to Salt Lake City. Having made the trip several times, I usually sleep in Mesquite, twice before (but never again) at the Oasis. We arrived and proceeded to the desk. The clerk, who did not smile or remotely acknowledge our presence looked up with a blank cold face. I asked if there were vacancies and she quickly responded yes, but it was $65, as opposed to the ADVERTISED $24.99 room rate for Sunday through Thursday advertised on several billboards. My partner in the group quickly noted that that was false advertising and again coldly she responded that the hotel was %90 closed down because of the economy and she wouldn't honor it. No hello, no sorry, no thank you for stopping in. She was the absolute WORSE customer service oriented employee I have ever come across.
In today's trying times, and with people needing job, I'm floored that Casey not only be allowed to work with such an attitude but that she's in a supervisor's position. Not only will I never go back to the Oasis or its sister hotels, but I will quickly spread the word about the crude service we received, not to mention the false advertising.
It was explained to us that the billboards were coming down soon; well if that's the case then perhaps the new $65 rate should not apply until those billboards come down, because that is not proper business ethics.
Thank you, RIP OFF, for allowing me to write about my troubles with the Oasis Resort. I drove to St. George that evening and spent my money at a budget-type hotel where the desk clerk greeted me and was glad to take my business.
