I went to a presentation at Global Traavel Group in Scottsdale, AZ. For attending this presentation in April I received as a gift an all inclusive trip for two to mexico thru Mexico Paradise Getaways. I went home read over the terms and conditions and like many others sent in my 100.00 deposit that was cashed within a few days.
Played the waiting game like everyone else that has posted on this company. After speaking with Veronica Gonzales many times and having to choose dates two different times due to them being booked, (which I totally understand) was finally approved for December 8th travel date. So I jumped thru all the hoops just as many have by sending in my Credit card number, passport, I.D. And cancellation policy.
I then started a forum to see if anyone had ever been to Mexico thru this company and that is when I found out what kind of people I am dealing with. There are sooo many people out there that have been taken advantage of by this company. I am not alone!
I have heard that they require 300 dollars in airline taxes. I yet to receive anything stating this. I have spoke with Marcy Wolf about this and she told me yes you have to pay this. I stated to her that this is NOT in my terms and conditions and sent her a copy of the terms and conditions I hold in my hand. It only states that in excess of offer I am responsible for telephone charges, room service. So it is talking about once I basically get to Mexico.
I pointed this out to her and told her that this is a contract and even states this on the terms and conditions and that they as well as myself need to abide by what is stated.
She just kept telling me I had to pay the taxes. The I found out from another person that they also say you have to pay for your ride back to the airport from the hotel. Which right on my certificate it states that transportation TO and FROM the hotel is included! I am yet waiting for a response on that from someone.
My husband and I have passed up on many things this year due to going on this trip. We are out an excessive amount of money due to buying rushed passports, time off from work that we can't get back, my health has suffered a great deal due to stressing over wether or not this is a real deal.
I have high blood pressure and it is thru the roof and have had to see the doctor quite a few times and also had to have an MRI done due to stressing over this.
Vacations especially ones that say are "all inclusive" and that state all you have to pay is a refundable 100 dollar deposit should NOT be this stressful. This was supposed to be a funfilled vacation for us and it has turned into a very costly nightmare.
I finally have had enough and decided to ask for a refund of my deposit due to they are refusing to honor their terms and conditions on my certificate that they even state is a contract (so it is a contract for us but not to them. They can break it and do what they want, but now if we were to break it we would pay the penalty for it). So we will see if I actually receive our deposit back. I have filed grievence with the BBB, AGO in Missouri and am hoping to speak with an attorney regarding this matter.
Someone need stop this company and close the door so no more people get burned by them.
I did contact Global Travel Group and they informed me they do not do business with Mexico Paradise Getaways due to people weren't getting the trips they were promised and in accordance with the terms and conditions. So I don't feel that this company has anything to do with the MPG scam!
