Day 1 December 23, Voyager of the Seas, The vacation of a lifetime. Ha!
Waited in line Two and one half hours in the sun. Few old wooden benches for our 78 yr. Friends to get off their feet. No water or any one from the ship or the company ever ventured out to see if anyone needed anything. Ship was to depart @ 5:00 pm actualy was about 8:00 pm.
State room was hot! We had a double glass door to a bolcany, with a great view. Go out and lose all the cool air. We had to keep the curtins pulled in order for the room to stay half-way cool. Called guest services twice, a maintance man said thats as cool as it gets. Asked for a fan, but never received one. About 11:00pm to 12:00pm it would cool enough to sleep.
Dinner for us was always the second seating. 8:30 pm and I mean 8:30 We could actualy hear them announce, three minutes, two minutes, Let them in. 10:00 pm or later finishing dinner, and it wasn't that good.
Wife had to see the Dr. For a cold. $286.00
They charged 15% gratuity on everthing, even the Mini-Bar thats in the room Gummi Bears $2.95 plus. 45 = $3.40 for Gummim Bears! Water (small) $2.29
Beer over $4.00 for the cheap stuff. What a rip-off.
Port of call Grand Cayman was advised not to go ashore unless on their excursions, which included a tinder ticket.
We were required to obtain tinder tickets, wait till our number was called, which is after all their fares are off, b/4 allowed off and warned be prepaired for a 1-3 hour waiting time for a tinder to return you to the ship. We just stayed on ship.
Entertainment in the La Scala Theatre was so-so, nothing special.
They had one bartender for the whole Theature, I kid you not.
Windjammer Cafe, a very common buffet, Breakfast-lunch too many people always a line.
Day 7 Required to be out of the State room by 8:00 am. Windjammer closes at 8:30 am.
Please wait comfortably in the La Scala Theature, till your ticket color and number are called. We could not get to the Theature. The halls were full, and people were seated on the steps. People were waiting everwhere, they could find a space. Most of the ship was locked off.
We were allowed off after 10:00am to find our luggage in a warehouse with no help. "The vaccation of a lifetime", "Gold Anchor service" must be code words for Sucker! You can shear a sheep every year, but you can skin him only once.
