When I left Tampa for a wedding up in Michigan I checked in at the airport and the ticket agent ordered me a wheelchair and took me out of the line and told me that someone would be by shortly to pick me up and bring me to the gate.
After waiting about 30 minutes and realizing that my flight was going to depart in 20 minutes, I wheeled back into the line and the ticket agent who had helped me was shocked that nobody had picked me up yet. She got on the phone and someone finally came to get me.
The gentleman that came and got me chewed me out for not going back into line sooner. We argued about what had happened for a couple of minutes until I realized that the customer is always wrong with this guy.
On Monday, July 2nd I checked in at Detroit for my return flight to Tampa. At the self check in kiosk, I was asked if I would like to upgrade for $50. I asked the woman behind the counter what that meant and she said larger seats in the front of the plane and free drinks and food.
When the plane was in the air, the flight attendant asked me if I would like to purchase a drink or snack. I said that I was told they were complimentary in this section and she said they were not.
I told her the lady at the check in had told me that and that was the reason I upgraded my ticket. The flight attendant told me that was changed about two weeks ago.
Enclosed is a copy of my receipt for the upgrade. I would appreciate Spirit refunding my money to the address below. Also, you might want to make all of your employees aware of this new policy.
At this point, I am very dissatisfied with Spirit and will probably go back to flying Northwest. This is also the first time I have ever had to pay to check baggage, $10 for one bag? Come on I was not charged anything on the first flight.
