Playa Del Sol Puerto Vallarta, sold us a timeshare in December. After thinking it over and discussing it we thought it best to cancel the contract. So the very next day after signing the contract we went back to cancel the contract only to be told that we had waived our 5 day right to cancellation period. We argued back and forth only to be continually told that we were "stuck" with the purchase.
We have written and had phone conversations with several Playa Del Sol employees in the past 18 months trying to get this resolved with no success.
Although Mexican Law states that it is illegal to waive the 5 day cancellation period, (Article 56 LEY) it is a common and very used practice of PDS.
Also we have since been informed by a current employee of PDS (who shall remain nameless for obvious reasons) that this particular property has been oversold by 300% making it next to impossible to get a desired reservation date at a desired location.
Beware of this company and their illegal practices, they will tell you anything to get you to sign a contract. Then from the time you sign, you are on your own. Getting a response from them is almost as difficult as getting a reservation.
Do not spend hard earned money on a timeshare at playa del sol puerto vallarta.
