We were given an opportunity to purchase a travel network from them after we turned down purchase of a Condo in Branson, Missouri.
This was a high pressure sales job which told us that all hotels, cruises, etc were put into a pool worldwide and were for sale by their travel company at a very discounted prices (at least 50% less than individuals could purchase on their own.)
I told them we used Travelocity and Orbitz and found discounts on the internet that had allowed us savings. They said their savings were much more than them even. And that they extended to many more types of travel. Air, hotels, cruises, condos, and everything associated with travel including eating out, tours, and entrance to Amusement Parks like DisneyWorld.
After purchasing this for $8000, we attempted to use it on our trip to Alaska. We needed a hotel room in Seattle, WA before and after our cruise (already purchased). They could get no better price than we had been able to negotiate ourselves. I let them get it at that price because they said I could get credits which could be used towards meals and cash. If you build us so many credits, they will send you a $50 check.
I checked to see what discounts I could get with these points. I could only purchase a definite meal at a particular place at a set time. Everything was already booked in advance instead of a discount card that could be turned in when I purchased. For example, when I get a gift certificate from Red Lobster, I can use it any Red Lobster, at any time. And I paid for my meal at the time I buy the meal and use it. These have to be purchased in advance for a specific date, time, even meal chosen in some instances. Same with the Amusement events.
As a senior citizen, when I travel I may take days I don't feel as well as others. Also I found I could get discounts same with my AARP and senior citizen discounts.
I called when my annual dues of $190 came due and asked if they would purchase it back from me since I was not even getting the $190/year benefit from this to keep this up. The lady on the phone admitted that because I was so savvy with finding travel deals. (I had found a travel deal to Hawaii and told her the hotel prices, the cruise prices, and the tour prices I had gotten and she admitted she could only match these prices, not get me cheaper prices. Some were not available to her at all because they were rentals by owners.
She said I probably should try to sell this to someone that is less knowledgeable about finding travel deals. She said she had just gotten a cruise deal on Carnival from her company. I asked if they had told her Carnival is a party ship for young people and as a senior, I avoided that cruise line. She said she too was a senior and hoped that did not happen to them. She told me the price and I could have beat that price since Carnival is one of the budget cruiselines. I go Princess etc when I cruise.
Bottom line, if someone starts a law suit I will gladly join in. Please contact me with any information.
P.S. If anyone would like to purchase this $8000 investment for $4000, I would sell it in a heartbeat to them. There is even two extra persons that can be added to this because we have not found anyone who wants to share this with us for free.
