What A Joke from beginning to end. Dealing with united is JUST A BAD IDEA!

Where to begin, on 5-01-13 at the SLC airport our flight was sheduled at 6:00 am we were stuck down stairs in a line from Hell at check in at 5:00am the kiosk computers were not working. So Finally someone started calling everyone on the flights to DIA and LAX at 5:30 and 6:00 am come up front. So we get up there to check in the Lady had to call upstairs to have them open up the system so she can process our tickets, and that we are on our way up. On to security (which is it's own nightmare) so when we finally got through and ran to the gate to be told that "The doors are already Closed!" by the rep. (a female) who started yelling to some guy down the way to come and help us or for us to go down there. She would not even talk to us she just kept saying she has to go. And she can't do anything for us she has other things to do now the doors closed 7 minutes ago. We said the check in lady called up here that she was sending us up. She said that they can not hold the First plane of the day cause that will just put the whole day behind. Also continued to JUST TALK AT US NOT TO US! Then a Gentleman named MIKIE came and rerouted us through SAN FRANCISCO at 6:30 am (I believe) he also told us that the check in person never should told us to go on up.instead should have rerouted us there. That vwas the leg of our trip... Now for the second leg... 5-09-13 at the Maui airport flight # 1099 at 1:05 pm to LAX. AT about 12:25 pm (bare in mind we were to be boarding at 12:30 pm) they announce that part of the crew is not here yet there was an accident on highway 30. So everyone gets on their smart phones looking up what is going on we all find out that it was a Fatal reck and that they closed the highway to investigate and that they were recommending to turn around.
The ticket people knew absolutely nothing. They just kept pushing departure time back 30 minutes every hour or so. I called reservations to to reserve two seats on the 9:31 pm flight to San Francisco because we had alresdy missed the connection in LAX. The boarding Rep. Pj. Was just a piece of work is all I can say. Why is it that the Pilots do not have to be at the airport at lease 45 mins before the flight takes off??? Cause in this case they would have missed the accident. Not to mention they going to be late anyway, So we got two $ 10.00 vouchers (A COMPLETE INSULT!!!) that we could not even use. The 1:00 flight finally took off at 4:30. So we were in that airport from 10:00 am until 9:31 cause my husband had a meeting to get on Friday Morning to which he MISSED THANK YOU VERY MUCH.By getting back at lease 8.5 hours late. There should be more COMPENSATION THAN 2 USELESS MINIMAL VOUCHERS (where can you get anything for $ 10.00 in an airport who are you trying to fool??? / i need to hear back from you people soon.!!!
