Boat on Craigslist using amazon paymentsI recently was looking at buying a boat on lexington Craigslist when I found what looked like a great deal (one of the too good to be true ones). They had a 2006 seadoo challenger 180 boat for sale for $4200. That boat in that year and model sells for around $14000 to $15000. I responded to the seller hoping it would be a local deal. This is the email I got back. Sent from a David Penn USAF ssgt. Or a scammer using that name and rank.

RegardsI did the research on amazon payments and they are a real company. I also received two emails from amazon payments. They looked very authentic with logos, transaction numbers and payment protection and payment details. I called the 800 number to talk to them and they didnt answer but had an answering machine. I left a message and got a call back from a 202 area code with a guy calling from amazon payments and he had a foreign accent, which of course could be one of their call center people. I researched it further and found the exact scam. This is a very elaborate scam, please pay attention to detail and only buy local.
