After researching a number of companies, I ordered some MRE's (Meals, Ready-to-Eat) from IMS. Based on the photograph of MRE's on their website at

I drew the conclusion that the MRE's were essentially the same as the military issue ones. So I ordered two cases.
When the MRE's arrived, I discovered that they are NOT as pictured.instead of the MRE' pictured, I received cheap knock-offs that were nowhere close to the military issue ones or to the photograph on the IMS website. Military issue MRE's typically contain an entree, a side, some crackers or bread and either peanut butter or cheese spread, a cookie or small cake, and maybe some raisins or dried fruit and of course the accessory pack and heater pack.
The meals I received contained only an entree, two small packs of two crackers each, a granola bar and and "energy bar". There was an accessory packet with spoon, salt and such included with each, as was a flameless heater pack.
MRE's can't be returned, and this is noted on the IMS website. So I am stuck with these crappy knockoffs instead of the military-style MRE's I had been led to believe I was purchasing.
