Alec DeFrawy aka "the Egyptian" - central figure in this scam
I, too am an ex-employee of TCT/Edge Talent. Edge Talent was just a branch off from TCT. I was the Accounting Manager, HR Director, and Office Manager for the company. I wish I would have known about this website before accepting a job. I was tremendously underpaid (also had to take the 25% cut and I didn't even work for TCT!) and overworked. The same people, Joe Gomez, Alec Defrawy, and Edward Bell, were in charge of Edge Talent. Everything was the same as what has been previously reported by ex-TCT employees. What was worse, is that they made it known that women were not "accepted" in the company. We were basically there to tend to their needs. Being in a management position, I was the only person that was not allowed to participate in the weekly conference calls to the franchise owners, I was the only person that could not attend the daily meetings, and I was the only person in management that did not have an assistant, even though I carried the burden of 3 full-time positions.
When I wrote a proposal requesting an assistant and a salary re-evaluation, I was put off for 3 weeks. Then, when I finally met with Edward, Alec came in the room and they all treated me as if I were unimportant to the company. They devalued my role in the company and told me to leave. Then shewed me off as if I were a nuisance.
I was very hurt and humiliated in front of everyone! But most of all, I feel bad for all the franchise owners and athletes that are investing in the company. Just like TCT, the idea is wonderful, but the company lacks structure. I could never get answers as to who was in charge, I was told by Joe Gomez that no one really had a title, they are in tremendous debt, and the people aforementioned are definitely very unethical and bias! Don't be fooled by the new name, although they have an "acting president" the same people are running the company. The president doesn't know half of what's going on, and they're not going to tell him because he doesn't "fit" in!
I was also told by Alec that I didn't "fit" the company. It's probably because other than the president (again, don't let the title fool you, he really doesn't have anything to do with the unethical practices of the company) I was the only other person in management that was concerned about the people. These guys are using the companies to get rich quick and change the company name when the heat is turned up.
If anyone is even considering working for any of these companies, please think twice. The majority of the employees are always stressed because of the daily changes. As Bill stated, they have very unqualified people in the high positions, and when people such as myself, with a Bachelors in Finance and Masters in Business Administration question their tactics, we are fired.
For all that still want to work for this company, I wish you the best. As for me, Alec did me a favor by firing me.
