Oh. Where to start.
First of all I would like to let it be known that I once thought Future Fitness to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. I stumbled upon this gym because its location was so close to my school. I thought it would be convenient to be a member to a place so close, so I joined. I was "Wined and Dined" when I was about to sign the contract. I was told all about their "special facility" and all that came with it. The equipment was wonderful, it was very clean, the owner even came into the office in which I was going over paperwork to personally thank me and to tell me that I am a perfect candidate for his club!!! They told me all that my membership included i. E (use of the equipment, pool, day care, sauna, classes, personal trainers and nurses). I was so happy that I found this place! What could be better? I had my own personal trainer who was supposed to meet with me once a month to help me achieve my goals, and a nurse who would monitor me medically.
Well, I signed a 2 year contract. The sales rep was very adament about the fact that I was not allowed to freeze or cancel for any reason with this contract. I didn't think that would be a problem, so I went along with it.
So, about a year into joining the club, I started working at a bar that Future does promotions at, so I got my membership at 19.99/month. AWESOME!
Ok, so here's where reality starts to set in and my perfect little gym starts to rear its ugly head.
Right before my contract was coming to an end I went to the gym personally just to make sure I had all my dates correct. The receptionist told me that my contract was up at the end of October. I said "ok!" just making sure.
About two months later I recieved a letter from Future Fitness stating that I owed them $140?!?! So, once again I drive over to ask whats going on. The receptionist tells me to just ignore it. Not long after that I got another one for $250, then shortly after that I had been sent to Sure Recovery Services for $400!!! I WAS PISSED!
I contacted a sales rep or manager or something in the Berlin location concerning my situation. They said very frankly that they couldn't help me because I signed up in Turnersville, so I had to talk to someone from that particular office.
I got in touch with a man named Adam at the Turnersville location, he sounded genuinely concerned and was very sorry that I was going through this. He insisted that I let him help me. He said he would get rid of the charges and find out why this was happening. What a crock of sh*t. I played phone tag with this loser for a good 5 MONTHS!!! He would not return my phone calls because he knew that the system this company devised to cheat people out of money got me too, and that's exactly what they wanted.
This establishment is the most foney, back-stabbing, deceitful, cheating, rude and UNPROFESSIONAL BUSINESS I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH.
I had to find out from a receptionist that the reason I was being charged after the 2 years of service that I had originally signed for was because: on the back of the contract in very fine print it states that if you would like to cancel your membership you must send a written note to the company, 90 days prior to the last day of your contract, OR ELSE, your contract will rollover and keep going till you write that letter!!!
Now here's my question? Why would I want to be a member of anything LONGER than I signed for on the contract??? I signed for 2 years, I paid for 2 years, I'M DONE IN 2 YEARS. Even though that was written on the back of my contract, I somehow sense that something illelegal is happening here.

So, after months of being harassed by Alan Silvers from Sure Recovery Services about him wanting to collect my money, I decided that this isn't right and I'm not falling for it either.
After the way that I was treated as a customer, and the stories I have read about them doing the same thing to other people, I decided to take a stand. I know that I won't win against this company because thats just how it is, but at least I got the word out a little bit.
Lastly, I decided that I was going to put a story on rip off report, personally write a letter of dispute to Future Fitness and Sure Recovery Services, possibly the BBB and anyone else who will listen.
I left work early to get to the gym in Turnersville WHERE I SIGNED UP so that I could get a copy of all my paperwork to put together a well written report against them. The very bitchy receptionist told me that all she could give me was a copy of my contract. I said NO I want a copy of everything I put my name on! She said I would have to contact the Accounting Office for them to authorize a release for my records. Oh yea, it was 7pm their office closed at 6pm. I made a scene and said that it's easier to release doctor records then to deal with you people, I think I turned 8 shades of red and left!!! What is so secretive that I can't see what's in my own file?!?!?! I finally got a hold of someone from accounting who was very reluctant to give me my papers and argued with me the whole time!
Signing up for this gym was the absolute worst decision of my life. I have spent more of my free time dealing with these people than I should have to. Nobody who works here gives a crap if you come back or not either! I try to spread the word as much as I can, but I need help! Please tell a friend to stay FAR FAR AWAY from this place because all they are are MONEY GRUBBIN PIGS.
