Okay, so to keep the story short, my finance is a current tenant of Brighton place apartments in midvale Utah. Due to circumstances beyond her, or my control, she was late paying rent, and is now subject to an eviction served and handled by Mr. Cullimore's office. I contacted them to try and reason with them so that they know she is trying to fix her mistake, and make things right. A staff member at Cullimore's Sandy office had on more then one occasion, told my fianc, and myself that we could pay off the debt by October 12. Which it's now September 27th.
You would assume that means we have more time right? Not according to an armed constable that just served her with an order of restitution! How is this not a violation of an agreement that both parties have made in good faith?! The catch to it is whenever they serve paperwork, they deliberately wait until after business hours so the defendant has no chance to contest the actions taken! I am contacting my own legal council, and will be requesting that the Utah state court system grants an injunction on grounds of unethical business and debt collection practices! I tried working with these people, but apparently it was to no avail.
