I have finished checking all of the cards that I submitted to Global Authority, comparing each returned card to the scans that I took prior to sending them to Global. And yes, Global Authority did indeed switch cards on me, substituting poorer condition cards for those submitted! Nine of the returned cards are suspect, and four of those are so obvious that I can't believe that Global Authority was so stupid as to think that they would get these past me! I will concentrate on the four, as these are plenty to state my case. Another package will be off to the Iowa Attorney General tomorrow and it will include all of the related photo copies.
Now that I think about, it is strange that my cards were returned in a totally different package then the one that I used to send. If Werner and Baker were "overwhelmed" by all of the cards submitted and couldn't get to my order, why did they take the time to open my package? If they opened it to confirm what was in it, why didn't they just leave my cards in the original package and close it up again? The answer is pretty clear now! They not only opened the package to confirm the contents, but to remove the items to go through them and make the switch to a poorer grade! And by the time that they completed their switch, the original carton was long gone.
I have a record of my original package size and I still have the carton that Werner and Baker used for the return. Now let them explain why, with their being "too overwhelmed" to process orders or answer phone calls/emails, did they take the time to open my package and remove the items? After all, they were not about to process my order ("too overwhelmed"). The answer is VERY obvious! To go through the items and substitute poorer grade! Werner and Baker continue to do a GREAT job of "shooting themselves in the foot"! This packaging information will also be off to the Iowa Attorney General!
In addition, I REALLY hope that Werner and Baker do open their card shop in Chicago. As soon as they open I will be in there looking for the cards that they pulled the switch on. I will have with me the card photo copies, my correspondence with the Iowa Attorney General, and my cell phone. The minute that I spot one of my cards, I will step outside and call the police. What I have should be more then enough for the police to confiscate the cards. Then I will press charges against Werner and Baker.
This total scam that Werner and Baker thought that they would get away has become surreal! How could they for a minute think that they would be able to pull this off! First the "free grading" sucker play to get the cards, then the failure to process or return the items in hopes of gathering a free card shop inventory, and last (once busted and forced to return the items) the ole switch routine in substituting poorer condition cards! Werner and Baker must not have given this scam much thought, as the way that they laid this out makes it so obvious as to what they were up to!
IF your items are returned, BE SURE to look them over VERY CLOSELY! I suggest that you get your complaint to the Iowa Attorney General going NOW! Werner and Baker will NOT get away with their scamming! I promise!
