I purchased crickets from Premium Crickets twice and had two bad experiences. The first time I purchased crickets in the fall of every single one of the 500 crickets that I ordered were dead 4 days after they arrived. I spoke with Allison who was incredibly rude. Being determined to rectify the situation, I spoke with someone else who blamed the calcium fortified cricket food that I fed them stating that the calcium hardens their exoskeletons so that they cannot shed, thereby killing them. I said that I would believe that this could be true if the crickets died over a period of a few days versus simultaneously. He paused, then said, "you must be a science teacher" and promptly offered to send new crickets, if I paid for the shipping. I agreed and was sent a new batch of crickets, which were fine.
My second order was placed mid-winter. I paid for overnight shipping, but the crickets arrived dead and the heat packs were cold even though the temperature was never below freezing. I contacted customer service to state that it may be helpful if the outer insulated box said "live crickets - do not expose to cold weather", but was told that there are no guarantees and if I didn't like it I could go somewhere else.
Honestly, I am not sure how this company stays in business. I can't believe that someone who "answers the front door" of an Internet company would be so incredibly rude and disrespectful. I am thankful that Flukers has gotten rid of their cricket virus so I can deal with a more reputable and respectful company once again.
