Received my SBC telephone bill this weekend. Opened it up and was surprised to find a charge of $41.20. Charge was for a supposed 2 minute call I did not make... I have never called a 900 number and would never authorize such a call...
I called SBC to complain. SBC was nice and co-operative. They checked my past monthly bills and noted the added $41.20 charge was excessive and out of line. SBC says, they'll deduct the amount from their telephone bill, but that they couldn't do anything more. They said I had to contact Integretl directly to resolve the $41.20 charge.
I called Integretel and explained the situation. The operator tried to say I had downloaded authorization through the internet... I said, I would not do such a thing, that it was probably something like a "trojan horse...", some spyware software that illegally dialed the 900 number...
Bottomline, I will not pay the unauthorized charge and will follow-up with complaints to the PUC and BBB... Anyone with same problem get any final satifaction? Would like to know..
