I've worked for Belk for nearly ten years. I liked working there for some time. Today I hate it. The neighborhood supervisors are placed under lots of stress by corporate to obtain breaks exposed. Bank cards generate our shops. Without them, Belk might proceed under. The cash they create off the cards is amazing. No cash is put in the shops for improvements, cleansing or for extra workers. Your bathroom is unpleasant, our dressing areas are dirty, for whatever reason the surfaces are rugs and therefore are saturated in "who understands what". All corporate cares about is promoting credit. A worker could be ended or have their income reduce somewhat if credit objectives aren't created. It's crazy. When the public understood how sorry a business Belk was to work with, they'd possibly begin buying elsewhere. To corporate, we're all only cows, affiliates and nearby shop and division supervisors. They can't be happy.
