DirectTV - ProSat & Mike's TV
Ripoff unprofessional dishonest San Diego San Diego

This is a long story so I will start from the begining:
On Feburary 12 I have Mike's Dish (Michigan) come to my house to install my new DirectTV system from ProSat (San Diego). When they go to mount my dish they inform me that they can't mount the dish to my house because I will not get reception (even though I later find out the that origional owner of this house had his dish mounted to the house) They instead mount the dish on a pole in my yard.

Now if anyone reading this is from New England you would know that the weather in Feburary is cold - it was 7 degrees that night. Anyway - after putting the pole in the ground and running the wires they tell me that that I have a faulty LNB and I am not getting local channels.

They explain to me that they can turn on the system anyway and they will ship out the LNB to me in four days and they show me how to change it. I agree (just happy to be rid of cable) and send them on thier way.

Feburary 19th - A week goes by and still no LNB so I give a call to ProSat and speak to Maureen (CSR). She looks up my account and said that nothing was reported and no LNB was on order. She apologized and said she would order it right away. I said fine and hung up the phone.

Feburary 26th - Another week goes by and guess what? Still no LNB so again I call ProSat and speak to a Susette (CSR) and again it was not on order. Again another apology and she said she would have it sent right away. I again said fine and hung up the phone.

March 2nd - the weather warms up and guess what? The ground thawed and the dish on the pole fell over. I make a phone call to ProSat speak to Shannon and explain to her that my dish is now toppled over and I need someone to come and fix it for me. She calls Mike's Dish and we make a date for them to come and fix it.

March 5th - between noon & five PM is when Mike's Dish is supposed to be here to fix my problems. I take a half a vacation day and wait. Finally at 6pm I call Mike's dish and am told that they tech is running behind and will be there soon. I call again at 7:15pm this time getting a voicemail system telling me that the voicemail was full. As you can guess I get blown off.

March 6th - I call ProSat and speak to a "superviser" named Randy. Was told that again the LNB was not ordered (arg!) and he apologized about Mike's Dish not showing up. He can't call them until Monday because of course it is the weekend. After talking to him for a few minutes I said lets get the LNB to me 1st and then we can get Mike's Dish out to fix everything (I was able to prop the pole up with some cinder blocks). Randy promissed that he would have the LNB NextDay UPS out to me for Tuesday delivery. I again agree and hang up the phone.

March 11th - again no LNB (who would have guessed?). I call Randy and he apologies to me (I am getting sick of those) and tells me that it shipped out regualr UPS on Tuesday and should be there on Friday.

March 12th - The LNB finally arrives! I call into Randy and get his voicemail (I decided to stick with one person because I was tired to explaining myself). I leave him a message to call me.

March 13th - I decided to install the LNB myself and still no Local channels. I call again for Randy get his voicemail and tell him to call me becuase it is not working.

March 16 - Left another message for Randy.

March 18th - another message for Randy.

March 20th - Ordered the NCAA Men's Basketball package because I can't get CBS in (go Husky's but $65.49 down the tubes).

March 24th - tried Randy again but got lost in voicemail. I give up after 25 minutes.

March 25th - Spoke to another "Superviser" named Tom Brody. Told me he would take care of everything. Could not look at the notes in my account because the computers were down but promissed me I would get a call from him by Friday.

March 26th (Friday) - no word from Tom - left Voicemail.

March 31st - Message on my machine from Mike's dish. They want to schedule a day to come out. I call the back and have to leave a message in thier voicemail.

April 5th - I leave a message for Tom Brody telling him that I have not spoken to Mikes dish still and for him to call me.

April 7th - I call Tom Brody and leave him a long voicemail that I am very unhappy and if he does not have this system fixed in one week I am going to ship the system back to them and cancel everything.

April 16th - Called in and asked for Tom Brody's superviser. I am told by Richard (CSR) they she was on the phone but if I wanted to wait I could. He also offered for me to talk to Tom Brody directly and I told him I did not. After waiting for about 10 minutes I get the old "The superviser is really busy, can I have her call you back?" - I refuse and now speak to a "Superviser" named Patricia. I let the poor girl have it told her I was fed up and want this fixed by Thursday (22nd) or I will cancel. She apologizes, tells me that Tom no longer works there (gee your CSR was going to give him to me a minute ago) and will take care of everything.

April 22nd goes by and again no calls. I decide that I have had it and will call them on Friday and cancel everything. I even have my wife call and get the info on Dish Network.

April 23rd - I get a call from Atlantic Communications saying that they want to schedule installation of my DirectTV. I tell her that I have already pulled out the recievers and am in the process of cancelling everything.

Now here is the kicker - I call ProSat and asked them of an RGA so I can send in thier equipment. I am told by "Superviser" Jeffery that I can't send back the recievers because they do not handle "Used" equipment and if I cancel my DirectTV I will get billed $150 per reciever ($450 total) I tell them that they can try but they have to lived up to thier end of the agreement and they can shove it.

I then call DirectTV and speak to "Superviser" Pat and tell her my horror story. I tell her how unprofessional ProSat is and that I want out. She informs me that because I have not "Fufilled" my contract she is going to charge me $150 plus and extra $10 for cancelling the service plan. You call this service?

Two and a half months - no local channels, Dish mounted on cinder blocks, half a day of work, $65 for NCAA tournament that should be free, 18 phone calls that were a average of a half an hour each and $45 for three antenna's so my wife can see the local news and network programs. Give me a break. They should be paying me for all the problems.

If anyone has any ideas on how I should handle these fees please let me know!
