All United Van Lines
Liars!

The bill we got was twice what we had been quoted. Part of this was because we had over 5000 pound more weight than we had estimated. But the real shocker was $2900 for packing, boxes and tape when we had done practically all of the packing ourselves!

Adam, the salesmen, had been very accomodating and promised there would be no extra charge when i told him we lived in gated community that would not allow 18 wheelers. When push came to shove they said there would be an extra $3100 to offload the semi into smaller trucks. I was told that if I could get someone cheaper I could use them. I did find someone that would charge no more than $1500 but when I called Kevin at All United to tell him that, he said it was too late — they already had the trucks rented.

Adam had promised we could have up to 30 days of free storage when our load arrived in CA. When I called him two days before the move he said that there would be a $900 charge for the storage! He finally settled at $750.

Finally, beware that they will only take cash or postal money orders. Also beware that the largest amount a postal money order can be is $1000 so that in our case I needed to buy and fill in a fistful of postal money orders. They would not take a money order from a bank. One can only speculate about why a business would take only cash or postal money oders. Could it be because the IRS cannot track them?

We had two bids from major companies before we went with All United because their bid was half of that of the majors.in the end we paid the same amount of money but with an incredible amount of giref and unhappiness because of their lies.
