I entered an online resume site in the blind. Next day received call from stranger, so I was confused. They identified themselves, told me I was so special and great.
I WOULD BE RETIRING FROM THE AIR FORCE IN 90 DAYS. I Set up appointment. NOW READ THIS; I TOLD MY INTERVIEWER WHEN I WAS CONSIDERING SIGNING THE PAPERS (contract with Haldane) THAT A JOB WAS IMMINENT FROM A RESUME ALRAEDY OUT THERE working for me, and that I was very condfident that I would get the job.
But, as there are no guarantees, i would consider joining haldane. I was told that if i landed the job that "we'll be fair'. Well, boys and girls, that job was landed two weeks later (the very one i referred to0). Now the deal changes. "that was too long, they say". You get zero back".
Then they fed me and my wife (SHE WAS THERE) a whole line of garbage WHICH SOUNDED GREAT (i CAN'T GO INTO ALL THE DETAILS BECAUSE HALDANE READS THIS SITE, TOO), and suckered me out of 3,500 bucks.
WITHIN TWO WEEKS I complained that what we had been promised, was not what I got after signing. Was told "you signed a nonrefundable contract, pal". Tough. You have us for three years". Complained that I was ONLY given a disc with websites of the companies I had been looking at all along.
Nothing, nothing, nothing was different than what I had done prior to even seeing BH and signing. Cancelled meetings because I was wasting my time. I was extremely dejected, and my adviser knew it, because I told him. He offered no help. Never even called to see why I cancelled out on meetings. This was a two hour drive for me. I never even finished half the program, and relocated because of job landed by me, (not them).
Regional manger said I could not prove they did not get me the job. Additionally, I made a special trip one last time to BH SPECIFICALLY for help in negotiating a salary (because I was headed to the interview) out of state.
Wanna know what my advisor said? I can't help you with salary negotiations, but here is a book on the subject, BUT DON'T USE IT BECAUSE IT IS FOR NEGOTIATING FOR EXECS WHO WISH TO NEGOTIATE FOR OVER 200K. WHAT??? THAT IS CORRECT.
So there is the promised salary help part of the bh contract. Bring it on< bh. You can't deny it. You are in big trouble. And i am not just mouthing off. You are in big trouble.
I HOPE PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD ARE READING THIS. I Pushed hard for some refund, based on cost versus completed portion of program. Refuted by & regional director. NO LUCK AT ALL JUSTIFYING SOME REFUND.
I then pursue all the way up to corporate in ny city. She tells me it is totally in hands of — . They then make offer of 1,000 refund, and that they are sending paper for me to finalize it.
Ok people, now hear this; when the envelope arrived, here is what it said: we will refund 1,000 dollars of your 3,500 dollars, but you must sign the paper on the line that says: if i ever contact or even speak to (not just complain about, but talk to) any current, past, or future client of haldane, i will voluntarily forfeit 100,000.00 dollars to haldane as punitive action which i agree to.
Ok, yeah, right. Sounds like a big zero with a blackmail stamp on it, to me. I have spent the better part of the year researching the elements of a major lawsuit here. And i am not afraid of haldane. Hear that? Because i know they are reading this, i will not devulge how i would like to or how i plan to put them all on the unemployment line, themselves, which is where they all belong for stealing money from the hard working individuals out here.
I suppose i will hear from them tomorrow about how they plan to sue me over this letter. None of it is false, however, and they never contested my arguements (not one of them).
So people, you have no reason to fear haldane, nor do you need to fear a lawsuit against you. The fact is this: i have gotten this straight from legal sources: you cannot be sued over factual statements made by haldane that misled you.
You are stating the facts. There is no defense against the truth. However, legal action must be initiated in the state in which the business took place. So if you moved after dealing with bh, you must go back. That is my own intention.
Statements of promise made to you are legally binding statements which cannot be refuted and used to sue you, should you choose to go public.
I strongly urge you to contact consumer advocates at your local television stations, your respective attorney generals office, the bbb again, and any military transition offices in your area (i am ex air force) and any institution which can and will exert leverage.
Hell hath no fury like a little media attention. If you are a lawyer, i would like you to identify yourself within this site, and volunteer to establish a base of operation for a prolonged assault on the tactics employed by haldane, which have driven innocent citizens further into the red, with apparently little conscience or empathy.
Do not, do not, do not sign anything from haldane. Do not! You will regret it like i did. My statements are based on personal and factual experience, not by some degenerate with a grudge.
I am educated, with a masters degree, and never thought that i could fall into such a trap. 3,500 dollars is not pocket change.
Please contact local sources to complain. The state attorney general's office has forms online to complain. And believe it or not, they are there to help in just these kinds of cases of abuse.
There is a fix at the end of this. Get witness statements. And right now, write down everything that you experienced, with time lines, if possible.
Keep all paperwork and receipts. Everything. When the class action lawsuit comes (and it will), you will be one of those standing in a courtroom, or in it's hallway to hear justice handed out.
But you can't just grumble. You have to act on this. It is legitimate, it is justified, it is right. But be patient. We can make it work. Good luck. If any of you have success in any effort to organize against haldane, please contact this site and as many individuals as possible.
When you think about this, it is a no brainer. You don't have to cave in and walk away in fear from these people because they bully you.
And one more thing. Do not let them make you believe you are the most talented and educated person in the whole world. That is how i felt, and against my better judgement, i made the mistake if falling in love with the company (haldane) that told me i was great at a time when i was most vulnerable and needing positve guidance in obtaing employment after service in the armed forces.
