Sales staff changed the downpayment requirements for tile after order was signed

Order #AK5571

Placed order with salesperson, Janell on 3/19 and set up a final measurement meeting for Saturday, 3/26. Gene, another salesperson from store, and Don, installer, came to the condo, 5677 S. Park Place Avenue, Greenwood Village, CO, to do the field dimensioning for the carpet and tile work in the AM.

Later the same day, Gene called asking for more down payment money to cover the costs. He wanted half of the total amount, $383. I told him I would pay for the value of the material, $160, because the installation service won't happen until April.

Gene demanded the 1/2 payment. I asked for the manager and he said there wasn't one. He then changed the deposit requirement to the cost of the material. Upon review of the sales order, both sides, there is nothing stated regarding the amount of the deposit.

This treatment to a customer was unwarranted and finalizes my decision to never do business with Carpet Exchange again.
