I used to work for Jay McDonald several years ago and not only is this man dishonest, but he runs a scam to customers and employees. I was hired by Jay McDonald in 2005 and under the impression that paid training of $2400 a month would be paid as a condition of employment. I made it clear to Jay Mcdonald that I had another job and wasnt willing to switch unless this was the case which he garunteed with a handshake. I have always been in love with direct sales which is why I was making the change from my salaried position. I was leaving a job as a store manager for Hollywood Video to sell vacuums. Upon being hired, I was told I was to use my own car and I was considered a sub-contractor for Aerus/Electrolux. I looked at it as a tax benefit as being able to write off mileage, meals etc so I didnt mind. However after 2 weeks I didnt receive a paycheck from Jay Mcdonald. I confronted Jay McDonald and he said that all employees were paid monthly and assured me I would be paid.in the meantime I had sold 6 vacuums within my first 2 weeks, but the travel expenses were really making me budget my money so I could make my bills by the end of the month. Pay day comes around and I received a $185 commission check after I had sold 9 vacuums bringing this company close to $11k in revenue. I asked Jay if I received another check for my base salary and another commission check for selling the vacuums (I had done the math and this commision was for filters & bags I had sold alone for the month!)
Jay McDonald then tells me that during my first month of training I am not eligible for commission on my sales and completely denies the base salary of $2400. (Look at their employment ads and you will see a salary offer of this, its a scam, a hoax, dont leave a job for this!) So for travelling around the state, burning my gas and wear and tear on my car, I receive $185 when this man receives almost $7200 in profit. The price list we receive which shows us the prices of these products are so inexpensive for the price we sell them, he pays $350 wholesale to sell for $1850 resale.

It's a sham. Dont pay for this crap, get an oreck or a dyson. Don't let somebody rob you. It would be like me coming to your door with a dyson I just bought from Target and trying to sell it to you for $2500. Don't fall for this at all.
To Jay McDonald. You are the most dishonest businessman I have ever met in my entire life. Luckily for me the industry I am in is very secure & I am hoping with the recent economic climate of society today, that you are losing money left and right. If my estimations are correct, you are either refinancing your mortgage or foreclosing on your nice home in Severna Park. If I am even luckier I will see you greeting people at Wal-Mart.
