I found Certified Sales Jobs on a job board as I was searching for employment. They claim to be a recruiter type employment service that would find great job opportunities that are not posted on the free job boards. They also said I should be on interviews within the first two weeks. I decided to join their service.
It was $29.99 for the service and there was an additional $10.00 for them to mail out a "comprehensive" employment packet that I would need to fill out before they can get started matching me up with employers. I received the packet in the mail, and that was the first indication that they were misrepresenting themselves. The packet contained a cover sheet, a one page questionnaire that I had already filled out online, and a basic brochure on their company.
There was nothing of substance or value in that $10 packet. I sent the questionnaire back and waited. All I received were jobs that I had already seen on Monster or CareerBuilder, etc. I complained and they said they would be sending me more. However, that day never came. I decided to call them only to find out that their number had been disconnected, email disconnected and website down. I was ripped off.
Thank goodness for Capital One Visa. I disputed the charge and they credited me back. The moral of this story is two-fold. Always research on usacomplaints.com before you buy or subscribe online and always use your charge card.
