My husband and I needed insurance. On 12/28, Lisa from American Healthcare Plans called us and told us that we could get this one plan and that they were currently enrolling. She said we had to do it then in order to save our spot. She also went through the benefits with us. Well, not knowing we went ahead and sign up. Needless to say that was the biggest mistake of our life. Finally, the last time I called on 01/20 when I called back to find out where our cards were, they said that we wouldn'tbe getting them for a few more weeks.
When I asked to speak with Lisa I was informed that she was on another line and someone else would help me. I was put on hold for over an hour, disconnected, called back and they continually put me on hold 12 times without even saying hello. When I asked to speak with a supervisor I was put on hold again. I finally spoke with David and he informed me that the first month was non-refundable. Then he told me I had 10 days to look over everything and decide if I wanted to cancel.
I told him I had nothing to look over because I never received anything and I wanted my money back and he said he couldn'tgive it to me and I should take advantage of the discount for the rest of the month. I told him I didn't want it and I wanted my money back. He finally agreed to send me $236.00 back but not the enrollment fee of $198.00. I told him I wanted that back also. He told me I would get my $236.00 back in 2 weeks.
I went back on the internet the next day to start my insurance hunt again. Well, Lisa from American Healthcare Plans called me again and I informed her of everything. She insisted that I had the benefits that she quoted me and she would look into it and call me back. Needless to say I never did hear from her.
