Liars and don't care about customers or even keeping and gaining customers

I ran out of staples for my office stapler and just wanted to run out and get a cheap box (quanity didn't matter), so I called Family Dollar and Michael (female) took my call and confirmed that they did infact carry staples. Well, when I got to Family Dollar I could NOT find any staples at all let alone staplers... Expect for tiny pocket sized ones.

I went to the front and asked the cashiers that were there where the staples were. Carrie (a manager) told me that they were over on the back shelf with the stationary supplies. I told her that there weren't any staples over on the shelf and not even an empty spot for them. Carrie then said "Well, then we don't have any or must be out". I told her that an employee told me over the phone that you carried staple and staplers and the only kind of staplers that were on the shelf were the little bitty pocket sized ones.

That's when Michael spoke up and said, "I took your call and YOU did NOT specify that you wanted staples for a big stapler." I told her that she didn't even offer to provide me with that information. (Michael spoke very sarcastically when speaking). I told them that I didn't even know if they carried any staples and staplers and was left with the impression that both sizes were carried. I told both of them that what I was told via telephone and what I was being told now was ridiculous and that i would NEVER shop with them again and walked out.

When I got home I called the store back and asked to speak with the the store manager and was told by Carrie that she was on vaction and could NOT take my call. I then asked for the telephone number to the corporate office. I called corporate office and was transfered to a girl that took down my complaint and assured that she would forward it on to the District Manager who should be getting back to me and to allow at least 72 hours to be contacted.

Family Dollar has no appreciation for their customers. They didn't even act like they cared when I told them that they lost business. I was treated VERY rudely and received no apology for being misinformed. I have worked in customer service most of my working life and this is the worst case of customer service that i have seen. These 2 ladies, Carrie and Michael need to learn how to treat customers with curtious and be empathic.

JUst think, Carrie is one of the managers and she even treats customers like trash. She NOT even be a manager with this kind of attitude.
