Newport Vintage Books
This is a fradulent company that strings you along with lies. The website looks believable, his promises are not

I began my unfortunate experience with Newport Vintage Books when I searched the Web for a business that reproduces facsimile dust jackets. Specifically, I was searching for The Hardy Boys, The Tower Treasure #1 DJ from 1927.

I was taken to a professional looking website that had not only the item I was seeking, but also many more dust jacket facsimile offerings from The Hardy Boys as well as dozens of more children book titles of which some I knew, many I didn't.

My e-mails, all of which I have saved, began on September 23 with my explanation of my want and Frank, the respondent, assured me he had what I wanted giving me a lengthy explanation about being backlogged, some customers are willing to wait, and his final sentence - "If you have any concerns about the turnaround time, we can refund your payment."

I had no concerns as I have ordered backlogged or 'out of stock' merchandise from many companies on the Internet and never was disappointed with the end result - I received my item (s) within 21 days. [As time would tell, that did not happen with Newport Vintage Books.] I pain in full with a credit card.

My next contact with Frank was in my e-mail dated December 08. Yes, two months went by before this contact because it was becoming a busy holiday season for me, starting with October 31, and I was giving the benefit of my doubt to Newport Vintage Books that they, too, were busy for the holidays. Of course, he never e-mailed me with an update or any other subject matter.

I inquired how he was and where I stood in his queue. He offered an explanation that he split the project into four parts..."It shouldn't be too much longer."

My third e-mail to him was 2/15.By this time, I figured I was stupid for not e-mailing more often or sending a report to the BBB, CPS, and even the State Attorney General office. Never-the-less, I informed Frank I was no more waiting, either send the item or refund my money.

Frank replied on March 040 "Hello Dan, Please email me your mailing address so I can send it along. Regards, Frank."

As of today, April, 06 I never received anything in the mail and have not heard from Frank. And the reason I am writing this report this same day is that when I e-mailed Newport Vintage Books this same day, I received an automatic reply from the System Administrator of my e-mail provider stating my message was undeliverable.

These are the true facts as they occurred. At this time I don't know if I am ethically or legally partly to blame as a paid customer to this business. However, I am quite sure Newport Vintage Books is absolutely ethically and legally bound to produce my merchandise (as described by Frank) or offer me a refund.

I hope all who may read this report will immediately end their business with Newport Vintage Books and file similar reports if they, too, have experienced his "Ripoff."

I am ready and able to speak to one and all: a lawyer, a consumer advocate, a newspaper reporter, a law-enforcement agency, a politician, etc. I am now more likely to contact them, so hopefully, our paths will cross and justice be done. I would like to see this business "put out of business" for non-compliance, malfeasance, on-line theft to name but a few violations.

Respectfully
