Back in feb. 2009. Derek robbins approached me about going in as a partner with him on the purchase of a resturaunt. It was a pretty well known BBQ place in corona off of green river dr. He explained how his friend was selling him the business and that we were going to make millions of dollars.
He came to my grandparents house and began his professional sales pitch. We trusted the guy at the time since he is married to my cousin. And seemed to know aloy about realestate since that was how he made a living.
My familiy cut him a check for 25,000.00us dollars to invest in his "dream" as he called it. He told me to leave my job and come help him to run the resturant. So i did. But the resturaunt never opened. And when asked he would get loud and angry.
Finally after 6 months past. I decided to do more research on derek and found out the worst. My grandmother told me that he had been trying to sell house for her in santa ana. She said that it had been about b4 years and he could not sell it. We found out that he was renting the house out the whole time
and collecting on it bigtime. He also took out over a million dollars in loans on the house. My grandparents lost their house this year due to this low life who we trusted. Be careful with this guy cause if he did this to his own family. Just imagine what he would do to someone else
