First of all I'd like to say that if you're considering working for this company. BEWARE! Everything looks good on paper. They prey on people with resumes posted on Careerbuilder. They are looking for inexperienced sales people. Especially those that know absolutely nothing about Merchant Account Processing. You never meet anyone face to face. It's a scam to make John Elliason, President of FFUSA and Chuck Fowler, VP of FFUSA rich! These two are lining their own pockets, not yours. Secondly, there is no training. You watch a series of online videos. I learned very quickly, in this business, you actually NEED to understand credit card processing, you need to know how to read a merchant statement and you have to understand the tiers that credit cards are processed under. It basically boils down to working for nothing. I worked for them for over a year and secured clients processing over $150,000 a month in credit card sales and maybe made $1000.00.
Secondly, I would like to WARN all potential clients of this company to BEWARE!!! No background checks are performed on their sales reps. The information you give said rep is not secure. You are giving them copies of voided checks with your account information, your SS#, credit card numbers... All your personal financial information since securing your business requires a credit check. This is no different than the information you'd have to give a bank if buying a home or a dealership when buying a car... Except that THOSE people work out of an office and that information is kept in files at a place of business and those people that handle that information have had background checks performed on them. Even a $9.00 hr. Clerk at your bank must pass a background check. So, my point is YOU don't know and neither does FFUSA know the character of the person you are dealing with. They could be convicted felons for fraud or identity theft for all any of those people at FFUSA know. These are outside reps from many different states, that only have contact with FFUSA via phone. There is no formal hiring process, nothing. Your very personal, private information, is in the hands of a complete stranger. I personally have copies with very personal information of the clients I secured at my desk, as I write this. I am no longer employeed by this company. There are no measures in place to make sure the information you give a sales rep is secure.
I also want to note here, that I just quit, because after my final conversation with Mr. Fowler about my clients feeling ripped off and lied to, that he never once asked me to forward any of the information I had on my clients.
I've reported them to the BBB of Indiana. One would think a company doing business in this arena would be a member of the BBB in the state where they are located. NOT!!!
I could go on and on here, but I won't. I just wanted potential clients to beware. This business only appears to be legit, they aren't. Just a couple of guys that have figured out how to rip off a lot of people at once. The marketing is pure genius here. GIVEBACK Programs and $100 dollars for just allowing them to try to beat your current rates. They are always going to beat your rates, they don't. They double or triple your rates.
My advice is to go to your local bank and be sure and ask them if they are using a 3rd party processor. If so, move on. Go thur Visa/Mastercard themselves.
