Menards advertised a 10% discount an the first purchase if an application was made for their credit card. I spent 2 hours selecting my purchases and then went to the service desk to apply for the credit card.
I was told my credit was denied, even though I have a high credit score and I have NEVER been denied credit. I told her it must be a mistake and she said I would have to call a toll free # aand talk to them. I asked to see a manager. The so called "manager" told me the same thing that I would have to call a toll free #. I told him I didn't have time and that I had already spent 2 hours shopping and that if he was unwilling to give me the 10 % discount I was going to leave my purchases there (about $700 worth) and walk out and never come back and tell everyone I knew to not shop there.
Unbelievably he said "Thank you". I was dumbfounded at this response and I told him he needed to go back to manager training and learn how to deal with customers. His response was again "Thank you"
I later checked with the credit card company and there had been no app. Submitted to them in my name or Social Security #.
I emailed the CEO of the company through their website and he responded by saying he would look into this and get back with me. After three months I am still waiting.
I have spent a lot of money with this company and I have tried everything to let them make this right. I will never set foot in a Menards store and I will tell everyone who mentions Menards that they are a RIP-OFF.
