When I arrived for my son's fitting (2 and a half years old, the ringbearer in my wedding), I was looked upon as trash. The manager was extremely rude! I purchased my wedding gown and received with it a coupon for 50% off the ringbearers rental. The woman that measured my son was very nice and phoned the corporate office to make sure that my coupon applied to a suit rental as well as a tuxedo rental. We were given the green light.
My now husband picked up the suit 2 days before the wedding and imagine his surprise when the total was $110!!! We were assured that the rental would be 50% off when my son was measured. At this point, with the wedding 2 days away, we couldn't really argue. I did call Men's Wearhouse when my fiance returned home and told me what the cost of the rental was. The woman that measured my son was put on the phone and she told me that the coupon did not apply to suit rental, only tuxedo rental. Why did no one call us to let us know? She wasn't sure and was slightly apologetic.
On top of everything else, the suit was horrendous!!! The black shirt my son was given was faded and looked like it had been worn and cleaned at LEAST 1,000 times. (Yes, I did inspect the suit when it got home and couldn't see this through plastic) The ivory tie my son was given to wear looked dingy, the shoes were 4 and 1/2 sizes too large (my son got to wear his white light up tennis shoes with a black suit - gorgeous!) and neither the shirt or jacket would button correctly. The shirt was such an ill fit that I had to leave the top unbuttoned. The jacket wouldn't button at the waist. Now, my son is large for a two and a half year old, but he is NOT fat by any means. He wears regular sized 2T and 3T clothing. No one told us to bring him in to try on the suit when we picked it up. Am I wrong to assume that paying that much money would indicate that these people would get their measurements correct? It is their job, for godsakes. The best part? The barcodes on the shirt and tie. Yes, that's right. Barcodes that show up in the pictures. It. Looks. Ridiculous.
I called Men's Wearhouse Corporate Office the Monday after we were married and assured that someone would get back to me within 24 hours. Here it is 3 weeks later and I still haven't heard a word. So, I beg and plead with everyone out there that needs a suit/tux/etc. For their wedding NOT to do business with Men's Wearhouse in Columbus, Ohio.
