I worked as a tele-marketer for Results Telemarketing for two weeks between March and April.in that time I managed to clock in a total of 30 hours and have never been paid. At first, the woman handling payroll, Sylvia Stap, gave me the run-around saying that a check was in the mail. After waiting a reasonable amount of time I did not receive it and emailed Sylvia once again. At this time, she made no mention to having mailed the check and responded saying thank you for submitting your invoice. Further attempts to contact Sylvia were unsuccessful. Then it was months later when I received an email from Nick MacCallion sent by Sylvia on July 6 which read:
"Attention all callers:
Due to the slowdown in business, we have been unable to maintain timely payments to the callers.
We have lost several clients due to lack of contacts and appointments.
It is our intention to pay everyone as revenues come in. I am working to make this happen as soon as possible, but it may be two to four weeks out.
We will pay people that have the longest outstanding balance first, working our way to being current.
Any callers that stay with us through this temporary setback will be further compensated once we catch up.
I see that some callers are threatening to post negative information about the company or contact our clients.
This is against the terms of the employment contract and not very professional, so I hope that people will refrain.
