My brother was adopted in 1963/1964. I searched and searched and finally found him on November 7th. With the 1 year mark approaching I wanted to do something special for him. I decided to petition the court for his adoption file which was sealed in 1964.
However; instead of doing it myself, I found a company online that claimed to act as mediators on my behalf to make petitioning the court easier. Not having inside knowledge of the court proceedings and being intimidated by all the paperwork, plus having moderate finances to work with, I enlisted Jennifer Robinson and her "company" a givenright.com. I paid a fee of $265.00 plus handling with my mastercard via Western Union to Jennifer Robinson, Des Moines, Washington.
I talked with Jennifer herself and gave her personal information on my family that she said was "required" by the courthouse where the adoption took place in Pontiac, Michigan.
