I stopped one day in a CVS pharmacy and noticed they were selling Topsy Turvy like I have seen on TV. I wanted to order one through TV but knowing how ANY item sold through TV is overpriced OR they price gouge you in the shipping & handling charges, I decided against it. So I picked two packages at CVS ($10 each tax) and started my gardening.
After five months of having the product out in full sun, the green part of it started to disintegrate. You could poke a finger right through it without any resistance. Also the green plastic top where you pour the water through had lost its color and faded to white. After another month the dirt began to gush out through the sides. This is a POS product that is NOT ultraviolet protected. It turns to ashes in the presence of the sun.
I returned it to CVS with receipt but they told me you are only allowed 90 days for return. So I called the manufacturer, Topsy Turvy, which I got the number from there website and explained the situation. They told me that the product does have a 1 year warranty but if you bought it at a store then there is no warranty through us. I screamed at them. How could it be that you only get a one year warranty if purchased through TV and not through a store. They told me that is their policy. I reminded them the TV advertisement that said, "You will get years of service from Topsy Turvy." Yeah, BULLSHIT! I haven't even gotten to one year and already the product is disintegrating. And they won't warranty the product if purchased at a local store!
I mentioned that I keep it out in the sun all day. She said, "Your only suppose to keep the product 6-8 hours in the sun." I answered her really. When you buy the seeds the package says keep in the full sun. Farmers keep their tomatoes out in the full sun all day and they don't have to worry about the earth opening up and swallowing up their plants. And here is the catch. If I kept the planter in the sun for 12 hours a day (that's half a day) and it only lasted 6 months, then if I were to keep the planter 6 hours per day like they recommended then it would last 1 year.in other words, the product will disintegrate just when the warranty runs out! Remember the TV ad that said, "You will get years of service". BULLSHIT!
I only have this left to say about the product. They have fancy TV advertising, fancy packaging, and a fancy product. The majority of the money they make goes into advertising from what I can tell. But the product is a POS, their warranty is a POS, the product is made in a POS country (China), and the quality of materials (NOT UV protected) is a POS. Even the crimps and wire rust! The majority of their revenue is going to advertising and not into a QUALITY product.By reading other consumer complaints, the company is deceptively marketing this POS product, not following through with overcharges and refunds, and basically screwing up this country with capitalistic, Nazis schemes. Is that the American way? Is there quality, value, integrity, and principle anymore left in this country?
So this is what I will do. I will enhance the product and compete with their POS company that sells a POS product. If they sue me then I will just disappear only to appear somewhere else. Don't buy anymore anything Made in China or sold at Walmart! They have put out alot of family owned businesses out of business, making the Walton's filthy rich.
WOT: Ever noticed the economy is just a wealth transfer system. It transfers money from those that don't know what they are doing (Americans and residents) to those who do know what they are doing (capitalist pigs, Nazis, Chinese). Making the poor poorer and the rich richer. And poor Obama, throwing money into a money pit thinking it will resolve the issue.
