I worked for courtland tyler. I would like to warn potential employees as well as potential signed acts of the dangerous nature of this man.
First, do not sign any contract with this person. After showing up at the airport with a band at 5am as per my assignment, i quickly found that corry had put a stop payment on the check that i was given to purchase the plane tickets for the band. Sadly, one of the band members was forced to pay for the tix out of his own pocket, in order to save face and play the gig.
On several other occasions, he would promise studio time then cancel last minute and never come through. This seems to be a pattern, for he did this with another band that the label represented. Telling them they would be recording, attending red carpet events, receiving free gear through endorsements, booking jenky photoshoots in a neighbor's apt, and trying to pay off professionals with gold coins that he cleans with ketchup in order to increase the value. Not to mention, the 45,000 other staff members he uses as a front to deal the coins bc a) he won't drive, b) everyone knows he's a fraud. Step into corry's garage... The garage below the apt he sublets bc he doesn't want his name on anything... He will point to his numerous cars including a mercedes, a soon to be delivered dolorean (sp?), a bmw convertible, etc. However, in truth, the only car that is his is a 199? Beat-up, ford explorer.
Are you looking for courtland tyler, try 8484 wilshire blvd. Suite 202. That's his office. His house is listed by another angry ex-employee above. His favorite hangouts? Try mel's diner, either one (highland or sunset), hamburger hamlet, ten masa, or benihana on la cienega. And then there's carneys. Try any of those, any night, and you may be happy to see his chubby face.
While all this sounds like fun and games, on a real note, when i first started working for tyler, he was extremely kind. He would shower me with dinners, gifts, trips, and everything seemed wonderful and legit. Until...
I started dating someone. Courtland became possesive, obsessive, and completely crossed every line that separates business and personal. That's when the emails and phone calls began...
I received calls throughout the night, voice mails, text messages, emails, saying hateful disgusting things. He would keep me at work for long hours so that i could not see my boyfriend, call me and tell me we had work emergencies-which i would drop everything for-only to have the work emergency be dinner and a discussion of my personal life. I would turn off my phone after regular business hours, and when i would turn it back on in the middle of the night, he would still be calling me up to 15-20 times an hour. He would come up to me at his signed artists' shows and threaten my job bc i wasn't hanging out with him, he would call me things such as:

SCUM
SLUT
Wxxxx
WORTHLESS
TRASH
He would accuse me of sleeping with his artists, making inappropriate comments such as, "i couldn't get a hold of you, you must have been busy having sex".
He would yell at me in front of clients and staff if i spoke to a member of the opposite sex and make up some reason for his behavior. He threatened my co-workers jobs if i didnt answer his late night phone calls.
Think that's bad?
Once i quit, he threatened to ruin my life and claimed i stole from the company. He would leave messages and emails that said, "did you really think i'd let you go that easily?" and that continued until i got my restraining order. To this day, he still sends me blank emails and calls me from random numbers only to hang up. Think he has changed his ways? Nope. He continues to prey upon his employees, artists, merchandise suppliers, and anyone that comes in contact by bouncing checks, not paying for services rendered, and not paying for merchandise. I was forced to move my entire life, just to escape the grasp of this devil. Anyone who would like to see the emails this man sent me, please contact me at [email protected]...
