Product underperformed, refused refund even though requested after only one day

I purchased the personal version of Megameeting videoconferencing on Sunday Aug. 26. I then did a test call with an associate.

The test call was unsatisfactory as the screen of my associate (an IT professional) froze up during the conference. Also, the sound was inferior to other products I tried. (Megameeting does advise using headsets in their documentation which I did not have available; still compared to other companies that offered free tests their audio was inferior).

I was contacted the following day by a sales person who attempted to "up sell" me to a more expensive product. I told her of the problems but thought maybe they were due to using their entry level offering. She did a professional sales presentation online. When I decided later in the day the price was not competitive for the more expensive product, I canceled the personal version I had ordered only the previous day due to the problems I experienced with it.

The company refused a refund for the charge for one full month on my credit card. Thankfully, the purchase was only month-to-month at $49 per month. However, it irritates me to have to pay for something that did not work as advertised and that I canceled within one day after an unsuccessful test. The company said they would credit me if I upgraded to a much more expensive product. Not the type of company I want to do business with.
