I have encountered racial profiling at the Bixby Knolls Staples. After voicing my concerns on the matter, a package I was mailing was overpriced and I later found that the mailing date was wrong. I believe this was clearly done because I voiced my concerns. The district manager tried to smooth things over by offering me some coupons for a sixty dollar store credit. He assured me he would resolve these issues at the store.
Approximately four months later, I go into the store to shop. I watched an employee go past other customers targeting me as he saw me come through the door. I asked him if he asked the other customers he practically knocked down to get to me if they needed any help. He of course said he did not.
The store says they have no complaints from other African American shoppers regarding profiling or discrimination. But if they did, why would they tell me. Therefore, I have sent a complaint to the United States Department of Justice. If you have experienced unfair treatment at this store and you believe it's due to racial profiling or discrimination, please contact the United States Department of Justice and file a complaint.
