Harmon Law Associates - Sold a Bill of Goods

I contacted this attorney via the internet because I live in MA. I needed him to represent me on a credit card issue. My ex had been ordered to pay this debt in our divorce agreement, however, he'd pay late, accrued interest and eventually stopped paying. The AZ court requires legal representation in credit card or debt recovery. Mr. Harmon assured me that the balance of $3,700 would be easily recovered. I paid him an initial $1,100 on a Discover card in October when I contacted him. The court date was set for January and I made flight, car and hotel arrangements to be at the trial. The night before the trial I arrived in AZ I called Mr. Harmon. At this time he informed me that the trial had been postponed. He FORGOT to return the phone call to the other attorney after she requested the change in venue. He then made an emergency request with the judge to have the case heard which was denied (I was charged for Mr. Harmon's time).instead the ex, his attorney, Mr. Harmon and I met to resolve the issue. Point Blank Mr. Harmon looked at me in front of the other council and exclaimed after reading my decree (apparently for the first time) you'll never recover this money! What! I've been paying you for 4 months to recover this money, go to trial, telephone the other attorney and you just realized you can't help! I walked out with another $1,000 in debt unpaid late charges, etc, and the credit card debt. Mr. Harmon billed me $7,500 for his services. After pleading with him to discount the bill I wrote a letter to the Arizona Bar Association.in short, Mr. Harmon blamed his lack of time management on the mucked up dates and forgave the charges. Meanwhile, I've got $1,000 judgment against me, I'm out the $3,700 credit card (which would have been cheaper to pay in the first place) travel expense $1,500, and the $1,100 bucks I paid for the incompetency. Mr. Harmon accused me of simply not wanting to pay for his services which was untrue. Mr. Harmon assured me that he could help me recover a credit card debt my former was ordered to pay.instead Mr. Harmon strung me along for 4 months accruing charges than abruptly told me that HE would not be able to help me. He dropped his fees when the AZBA found my claim legitimate.
