I purchased an 3 year extended warranty (RepairTech) through a reputable on-line camera store in 2006. Last year, the camera died and I filed a claim. I was instructed to send the camera to their center in Iselin, NJ.
Two months later the camera was returned. I opened the box and found the camera. No letter describing the work done. I checked the camera, only to discover that it was not even touched.
It took several weeks to get a hold of someone (e-mail and phone). A new company "Repair Claim" in Florida would handle the issue. Just send $45 for shipping, handling, insurance, etc... The warranty cost me $49.99... No thanks.
It seems that RepairClaim (aka RepairTech) is playing the old shell game. I'm going to use the $45 at a LOCAL repair shop or towards a new camera.
Good Luck to all who have been ripped off.
