We sent a deposit to Paula for a bulldog/boston terrier mix puppy that were not yet born. She told us that the litter was too big and all the puppies died. We requested our money back as we were moving out of state. She explained to us that it was common practice to NOT refund deposits but rather put us first in line for the next litter.
We said no thank you and to send the money. Months past. We called, emailed and even knocked on her door. All BS answers including "i have another litter coming soon and can pay you when i start getting deposits".
Determined not to be taken we filed a small claims lawsuit. She did not show up for the court date and with ample documentation the court ruled in our favor. Of course we have not yet seen the money so a state marshal will be looking into the matter next. There does seem to be another example of this breeder doing the same thing, see report 389103.
