Amanda Barr was contracted to walk our dog on a daily basis since the late summer. There were scattered days when I had questioned whether she had really showed up, when the dog would bolt out of the house as soon as I got home to pee. I mistakenly gave Amanda the benefit of the doubt, thinking perhaps he was walked early that day.
I thought it strange in late November when I wrote and left her a message to skip 3 days over the Thanksgiving holiday, and did not hear from her.
During that time, and the week after, I noted the leash was unmoved from it's position, but reasoned perhaps she had just let him out back to play instead. The following week, I decided this was excessive and after planting the leash in different spots and noting it unmoved, wrote her another email. This bounced back. I then tried to call and noted her phone is now disconnected. She did however come at the beginning of that week to pick up the monthly check for $330, and promptly cashed it that day.
I would like to give Amanda the benefit of the doubt that something has happened, but based on the number of complaints that are now springing up, I think that would be naive. Not only am I now out of the $330, I had to have all of our locks rekeyed at a hefty price, and it really left me in a bind with noone to walk our dog.
I would like my money back, and if anyone is planning on pursuing this, please let me know.
