I was sent a large some of money ($8,570.00) on 10/04/08 which I did pick up that day. On 10/06/08 I went back to this store to send money to a man I at that time believed to be my boyfriend and was sending the money so he could move here to Alabama so He and I could date and get to know each other better and possibly marry at a later date. The front end clerk started the process by running the original western union checks. I was told that it would be cheaper on me to send it in a lump sum, one transaction, The transaction did not complete. I was accused of some horrible things such as money laundering and told the FBI and local Police would be there to take me to jail. I waited in tears for over two hours at the store. At that point the same clerk that handled everything told me to just go home and wait, I did go home in tears and shaking in fear as well as having severe chest pains. I have been given the run around since. I have spoke with several people at western union and they keep telling me Winn Dixie was supposed to give me documentation on all this, I was not giving anything concerning this particular transaction by that store. I was told that I need to go back to get my money back from Winn Dixie. I can't get them to give me my money back because they have admitted they have it under investagation and that they no longer have any of the paperwork.
Therefore noone has any records concerning my even being there to try and send money. I was told I could make the transaction using the western union checks issued to me from the original sender. When It was not able to complete, I was subjected to having some really nasty accusations made and being told I was in a huge amount of legal trouble which I have been to the authorities and talked with them concerning the information I had found out about this case and I have been told I had been victimized by the person I thought I could trust but that the original monies wired to me is legit and is my money. I have spoke with the manager at the Winn Dixie and he is still refusing to refund the money back to me on the grounds that I have to go to western union to get my money refunded back, Western union tell me they don't have my money that I have to deal with the particular store I dealt with in the beginning. I has been a vicious circle.
I am unable to sleep, I am having health issues because of this, I am a nervous wreak. It has affected my homelife and virtually distroyed my life. I have explained to Winn Dixie both I will never again communicate with the person I was trying to send the money to because he did lie to me and scam me. I just want and need my money given back to me because the original sender payed cash to send this money to me, it is my money by law and I am now responsible for paying every cent back over time to the person who sent me funds as a personal loan on 10/04/08. I am on disability and cannot afford to pay back a loan where I do not have the money to pay them back Since Winn Dixie kept the money and reciepts and all records I cannot seem to get anywhere with them except a lot of call him no you have to call here, no you gotta talk to these people, a lot of calling alot of people.
The amount involved in the 10/06/08 failed transaction to the cent is $8,469.50. This is the amount that Winn Dixie refused to refund to me or now even talk to me about in fact when I call to find out who to talk to about it they have a nasty attitude with me or they just hang up on me and refuse to treat me in a decent manor. They treat me like I am a criminal and I am not a criminal I am a victim.
