We purchased a French Bulldog from Lori's Pampered Pets aka Fatboys Palmetto Pugs & Bostons. At 4 months, she was diagnosed with demodectic mange, a genetic defect that the father or mother passed on that makes her vulnerable to mange mites.
She is requiring extensive treatment by a veterinarian. The bottom line is that this dog should not have been bred nor is she breedable. They were notified of this. This dog was $1800 tax. We love & kept the dog & asked for some form of compensation (vet bills, partial refund) to no avail.
These people are apparently irresponsible. Don't trust them. I should have been suspicious as they would not let me look at their kennels when I asked to see the parents, but instead brought the mother & father out to me. (Read their web site—they don't want you to come to their kennels. They want to meet you in a public place.)
I let my emotions get away from me & did not make a good business decision. Don't let this happen to you. I have no idea when the medical bills will end up being.
