I was moving from Southwestern PA to Charlottesville, VA. The only company I found that could meet my dates on short notice was Moving Forward Relocation.
Their estimate was $2400. They got the truck loaded and left out 1 piece of furniture which was too large for my car. The claimed that I had reached my allotted space and that this extra piece would cause a "slight overage".
I agreed to let them work it out as we drove and we were off. Once we arrived at our destination, they gave me the bill, which was $4800. When I disagreed, they said that if the didn't get their money in cash they would be forced to take my belongings back to NY and I would have to make other arrangements to get them back.
Luckily, my company was understanding and agreed to pay the "ransom".in the end, the movers actually had the nerve to give me a hard time because I refused to tip them!!!
