I too have been to Singles Station Dating Co and lost $2595.00. It all began with surfing online to Christian dating sites. I must have hit upon one of the many sites that they own and next thing I know I am getting a call to come in for and interview. I went in for an interview, starting by filling out a survey to better match me. The a face to face interview with a man in an office by ourselves. No one else was in the building.
He asked me all kinds of personal questions about what I was looking for in a man and I answered. When presented with the cost of 12 dates ($2595) I stood up to leave and he stood with me and started the fast talking sales pitch. Mind you he and I were alone. I felt very pressured to sign and get out as I was about to be late for work. I used my credit card and am still paying it today.
They called the next eve with a "match" oops the called the next morning sorry that guy is already dating but I have another match. A man called an we set up a dinner and he was NOTHING that i was looking for.
I am bubbly, adventurous, love life, people, my relationship with Jesus and his people are first in my life. I am very active and healthy. The man they paired me with was elderly looking, short, overweight and balding. OK lets listen to what his personality is like. He carried on about his ex divorcing him and his kids living to far away to visit. He hates organized religion and would prefer to get a gun and live in the of the land. He really wasn't optimistic like I require, life is to short to always be grumpy and bitter.
When I called to say I wanted out of my contract they laughed and said, "you signed it, therefore it is valid". I even asked for a portion of my money as I only went on one date, and spent 3 hrs for the interview. Again I was met with laughter.
The problem is that they tout a Christian dating service, but they don't screen for a spiritual background in any way. I have seen their sings up all around Bentonville that lure people in. They hurry and pair you with anyone in the area so that you will have no time to back out of the contract. This business has only been around for 8 years, BBB stated start up of with only 6 employees.
Nothing may come of this but I am a single mother with 3 kids and $2500 is a lot of money. They prey on innocent people who really want a decent date without all of the fear. And in the end they get paid because of a "contract" and we the people get nothing but in debt.
