Two Maxtor External Drives Failed Within Three Hours of Use

Have purchased two Maxtor products and found that they did not last more than three hours each before they went down the tubes. I e-mailed Maxtor to bad they are out of warranty, whoops! Pardon me for expecting an external storage unit to last more than three hours. Do not buy Maxtor products.
