Universal gas and electric had me signed up for a 5yr contract without the approval of the bill holder. They claim the contract was signed by my spouse at which time i was single!??? They claim the contract was signed in may and signed by my spouse. Well i didn't get married until june and they can't prove who it was that signed the contract. They did not check any id or any ss numbers to prove that she was my spouse. I am very upset i would have never signed up for this knowing it was for 5yrs. They don't have any signature of any kind showing that the persons name that appears on the bill is knowingly locked into a contract with this company. I had just found out that i was locked in to this contract today and they are refusing to cancel my contract with them! They don't listen.
