I feel that I have been and still are being discrininated aginst by SECURITAS SECURITY TUCSON office, being disabled with C.O.P.D. And ostio arthitas and trying to exist on SOCIAL SECURITY only i find it necessary to suplement my income just to exist and assist in paying for meds.
I started work for them in 9/06 I made sure that they were aware of my limitations at the begining. The first post i was assigned to required climbing multipul flights of stairs, another required walking 1.2 miles every other hour, than I was sent to a Guard gate and trained there for 3 days This was perfect it was 24 hrs a week i was able to get up and sit as necessary with very little walking. I was promised this by Jennifer a min of 3 times just needed to wait until the existing Guard retired and was asked if I could patrol a Wal-Mart parking lot temperarely. Well a few months went by and I kept asking about the opening untill i got word that the Guard did retire a month ago.
I started calling Jennifer sometimes as many as 2 times a day leaving a voive mail, almost 2 weeks went by I finley go ahold of her and she informed me that the position had been filled and they wanted a 40 hour a week in place of 24, I was never asked if i could or would work 40 hrs, I would of been more than happy to try it.
Since than I discovered that the person that was assigned to that Pose has been relieved and I was never asked if i wiould take it. I continued calling the office for relief with my calls never being returned (talk about feeling ignored) and continued asking the 2 supervisors for a different asssignments due to the fact that I wasnt getting but aprox 3 hrs sleep a night, sometimes I never seen a supervisor for over a month,
In the mean time I had cought Pneumonia 2 times and the Dr said it was more than likle'ly due to my immune system being weakened by the lack of rest, being My phone calls were never returned i wrote a letter to the Calif, Phoenix and Tucson office's. Almost a month later i finley received a call from a Bill Voss the head of HR and Austin branch manager in Tucson. I was informed that everything would be taken care of and was tranfered to Jennifer and explain my problem again. She than asked me if I could handle 6 hours a day for 5 days and I said yes that i would, she told me she would call me back by 5pm that same evening to let me know,
Well here we go again, I never heard from her for over a week so I than reached the branch manager (AUSTIN) I am guessing I really made him mad because I told him that I felt that I was being discriminated against and was considering filing charges, guess that did it... I was informed at that time that I should not return to my assigned post any longer if it was causing health issues and they would look for something that would work. Well they did.
They had me drive round trip 3 hours round trip to offer me 2 posts that were over night even after my Dr, wrote a letter informing them that i needed in so many words, that i required nightly rest. The 3rd one offered was over 40 miles, I refused all 3, the next morning first thing after considering that iI like to eat and need Meds i called Jennifer and informed her that I would take the guard gate over night. She told me it was already gon, than i told her i would accept the one that was 40 miles away, she was going to call me back that afternoon.
Well its now been 3 more days and still no call. Im starting to get hungry, restless and very disapointed what ever happened to integrety??? Guess i really need to know an I being discremented against and I there anything I can do at this point, I do have a appointment with the State Atty generals off in 2 weeks.
