Crossings Book Club
Unauthorized book club membership

Around Xmas I received 2 separate shipments from Crossings Book Club. They were both returned to them marked "did not order, refused and return to sender". They were charged to my credit card with no knowledge and no authorization from me.

Along with 3 other companies around the same time, I have turned this over to my credit card fraud department. The charges have been reversed but I am getting letters from the book club stating that in order to cancel, not one but two different accounts, I have to at least buy four books from both accounts and pay for them accordingly in order to fulfill my obligation to them.

I have written them letters and e-mailed them but the idiots that are communicating with me don't seem to understand that I did not authorize these accounts. I really have better things to do.

The other companies that sent unauthorized packages are Girls Gone Wild Videos (I am sixty years old and really have no need for these videos) and one software company and a company called Scholastics at Home. How in the world does this kind of thing happen? Fortunately, my credit card company has reversed these charges and now their fraud department is supposedly looking in to it. Yeah, right...
