Zazzle Is A Fraud

Www.zazzle.com accepted an order I placed for a Barry Manilow t-shirt and agreed to expedite the order for my daughter's birthday. I did not receive confirmation that the gift was shipped, so logged onto the site a few days later to see if I could get enought information to track the package. What I found was the order had been canceled. I sent a message to find out why the order was canceled and why wasn't I notified, but got back a canned message that I pasted for your viewing pleasure below. After I got the message explaining that the item up for sale can no longer be sold due to copyright laws, I wrote another letter to www.zazzle.com to find out why the item was still online FOR SALE if it can not be sold. I haven't heard back from them but are any of us surprised. Save yourself a lot of hassle, do not buy ANYTHING from www.zazzle.com. The company and its policies are unscrupulous at the very least.

I'm wondering if zazzle.com just puts up an online storefront to shuffle valid credit cards throught their 'back door'. Luckily I paid with my Discover Card and have Online Shopping Fraud Protection. Discover is already aware of zazzle.com and their unscrupulous method of dealing with consumers

I contacted zazzle.com Customer Support to find out why the order had been canceled only to get a message back that read as follows:

Unfortunately, your order has been cancelled because it contains content that is in violation of United States copyright and/or trademark laws. Specifically, your order contains a product (s) with a copyright-protected image of Barry Manilow. No funds will be charged to your credit card for this order.

Generally speaking, we cannot fulfill any orders containing a copyright or trademark protected title, name, or image. Examples of infringing material include:
—pictures or names of celebrities;
—names of characters from books, films, or television shows;
—titles of books, feature films, television shows, or magazines;
—images from films, television shows, video games or the Internet.

More information on these policies is available at: http://www.zazzle.com/create/help/copyright.Asp.

Although your order will be cancelled, you are welcome to place a new order with us so long as the protected content is not present in any of the products you request. You might want to check to see if the image you were trying to use is available from one of the Zazzle Special Collections partners on our site, including Disney, Harvey Entertainment, Twentieth Century Foxs Family Guy, and more at http://www.zazzle.com/collections/default.Asp.

If you are in fact the owner of the protected content, or if you otherwise retain a license or right to produce the protected content, please respond to this email with notice of this fact, and we will be happy to produce your order as quickly as possible.

All that and all they had to do was take the item off of their online store. As of the time I'm sending in this complaint, the "Barry Manilow Friggin' Rocks' shirts are still up for sale on the zazzle.com website.

And no, I'm not a Manilow fan; the shirt was a gag birthday gift for my daughter who now won't be getting anything more than flowers because that's all I can get delivered to her on such short notice. Sad, but true...
