I bought 35 double headed vending machines from a company and they referred me to Prolocating for placement. This company used several different names. On a contract they faxed me it was something else. I spoke with a man either Jeff/Jay and he needed half of the money to place the machines overnighted to him to get these machines placed immediately. Then after the machines were placed I was to pay the other $750. A contractor (supposedly) did call me but he wanted paid $750 upfront as well. I told him to get his money from Chris because they were already paid that, overnighted months prior actually. Days turned into weeks and at that point he referred me to his boss, Chris Phelps. After several months went by, I demanded my money back or someone place the machines. I told Chris that I wanted only half of my machines placed because I would do the other half myself because I did not want to pay them anymore money in the future. At this point 6 months already rolled by. Chris would not return my phone calls, I got a machine everytime or it would just ring forever. I ended up placing some of the machines myself. Months turned into a year. I still contacted him and left messages at least once a week. I reported it to the bbb and also to the attorney generals office. They did an investigation and sent Chris my complaint and he reported back to them that all my machines were placed by his company and many other lies. They advised me at that point the only thing I could do was sue him. I live in pa., the company is in tx. It would cost me more time and money to sue him than what I had invested, the $750. I had the machines sitting on my front porch for a year. I tried to call Chris one day and he had my number blocked from calling him. The only time he would talk to me is when I would have one of my friends out of state call him with a different number acting like they wanted machines placed, and then when he would call them back I would have my friend 3-way me in. Of course he was stunned and assured me he would give me my money back. He told me that they were in the process of telemarketing businesses to place my machines (yeah right) since he could not find someone close enough to do it. Originally though he told me he had someone in every state to place machines. I never saw a red cent just as expected. This was back in 2003. I knew other people were getting ripped off because of the complaints that the rep. Of the attorney generals office told me. Its just disturbing, I had to put the $750 on a credit card because at the time I did not have that kind of money to just write a check for it. Whether I put it on credit or wrote a check, I did not deserve to be ripped off. I overnighted the money, got the run around and have not heard from him since.
I have at least seen 3 different names associated with him. The newest one is ABSOLUTE BEST LOCATORS. I wrote the money off years ago as a lesson learned. What comes around goes around. Everyone beware of the name Chris Phelps!
