I began working for this company at the Hixson, TN location in August of 06. I was hired for store manager and the current store manager was supposed to train me for the next 2 weeks. Did not happen. She had some sort of personal catastrophie and could not come in until it was time for her to go to the new store when it opened which was like 2 weeks. Sooooo, for the next 2 weeks I worked mostly 12 hours a day, the only thing I knew how to do was hair... I did not know the computer, scheduling, closing, opening, who to call for help, nothing!!! I should have known then... I called the supervisor Dan, and left several messages to no avail. When he finally did call me back, the other managers in the area had led me enough to survive and all I needed to ask him was about manager training... He told me there were several places that offered management training but Regis would not pay for it. And the cost out of pocket was around $350.00. Well I felt that was extremely unprofessional, and again, I should have known. So after gaining my sea legs, building my clientale, and feeling secure a bit, he decided he would move me to a salon that was 45 minutes from my house. I assumed since I had been going to this store and had received milage, that I would continue to get that... Nope did not happen, we all know how expensive gas is. Well in my first month at Soddy Daisy I increased sales by 67%, and I was for sure I would get something for that... Nope, should have known better! Then all of a sudden Dan was not my supervisor any longer, a new one came in the first day of April, her name was Soynia... Pronounced Sonya. She came in like a bulldog! Automatically issuing demands to us all, exactly the goals she expected from us... Service sales, and retail, and how the district she had come from her labor percentage had always been below and we were not going to make her look bad! Everyone else in my salon left, they just quit, could not handle the demand for being there from 9-9, seven days a week. I was wore out, but the worst was yet to come. I worked a total of 6 weeks almost by myself.in the month of April I only had 2 days off. And when I asked when I might get a day off, she yelled at me and said I was getting more days off than anyone else! She was not going to be taken advantage of by her managers, she had a family too! This past check, May 1-15, I worked a total of 167 hours, I made a percentage of my total services instead, no overtime, and Regis says they can do this. I was not able to take breaks, developed a kidney infection because I was not allowed to leave the salon, she said if my store was not open or closed early I was terminated. I could not afford to lose my job, I have a son with autism and costs of living is outrageous! So last week I tried one more time to ask, more like beg for a day off, and was told that I could easily be replaced so ya know what, I told her to replace me. Well update, my replacement lasted 1 week! She left as well, and a week later as well, there have been a total of 4 other managers leave and a number of salons that have no employees at all. And the supervisor Soynia mysteriously no longer is with the company... Hmmm I have most of my clients, they followed me from the salon previously, and I have done them for years. I know there are several lawsuits against this company, for the same things they did to us. If I were a consumer, I would never ever ever shop with this company... They have alot of unhappy, untalented, uneducated stylists and they dont care as long as the salons are open, the bottom line IS all they care about.
